In large part architecture is based on an enduring structural narrative. It is purposefully designed down to the smallest details to exude permanence. Our project creates new visual channels within this narrative-- a dialogue between the fixed space and temporary spatial interventions.
The forms created in these interventions act as geometric play-- funneling viewpoints, shifting perception, becoming soaring manifestations of the building's subconscious. These curtain-like structures reference the multitude of specific rectilinear planes that surround it but never mimic them. Instead what’s found is a kind of Euclidean day dream. These new forms tease; they are light and transparent, and while they are suggestive, they are not concerned with becoming a statement of fact. As forms, they occupy space but do not usurp it, serving as an ephemeral response to the architecture that surrounds it.
